Frequently Asked Questions
When should students begin advising?
Many families begin in grades 8-10, but juniors and seniors can still benefit from focused support.
Does Arete guarantee admission?
No. Arete provides educational strategy and does not guarantee admission, scholarships, aid, or outcomes.
Does Arete write essays for students?
No. Advisors help students brainstorm, structure, and revise. Every submitted word must be the student's own.
What does Essay in a Day mean?
It is a structured brainstorm-to-first-draft workshop. The student writes the draft; it is not ghostwritten or presented as a polished submission.
What do virtual sessions look like?
Sessions are agenda-based on Google Meet, with next steps documented and service limits tracked.
Is Mandarin support available?
Yes. English and Mandarin family communication can be provided.
Is financial-aid support included?
It depends on the plan. Arete helps organize FAFSA/CSS and may draft appeals with the family, but does not provide legal or tax advice or request credentials.
Are add-ons available without membership?
Yes. Every add-on is available to members and non-members.
Are four-year memberships available?
Yes. Every membership tier can be enrolled for four years at 20% less than four annual payments. The same tier applies for all four years, and upgrades may be requested at any time for the approved prorated difference.
How do I schedule the free consultation?
Complete the brief consultation request first. Qualified families can continue to online scheduling; when advisor routing needs review, Arete responds within two business days.
Are services available outside Texas?
Yes. Arete serves remote clients throughout the United States.
